bitFlyer Review: Is it legit, safe and trustworthy for UAE citizens and residents?

bitFlyer is a well-known cryptocurrency exchange based in Japan that provides trading and exchange solutions for digital assets across three continents: Europe, the United States, and Japan. Users are able to purchase and sell Bitcoin in addition to other cryptocurrencies using fiat currencies such as the Japanese yen, the Euro, or the United States dollar. Even more quickly, merchants may complete their transactions by using payment options such as a bank account. Despite the fact that the exchange is most well-known in Japan, it is more well-known in the United States and Europe. The simplicity of its operation, the responsiveness of its customer service, and the cheap trading costs it imposes on users are all factors that have contributed to its widespread acceptance. It is important to keep in mind that the rules and fees associated with it change depending on the location. It is possible to declare that bitFlyer is one of the top cryptocurrency exchanges for those who are just starting out. Read this review of bitFlyer to learn more about the platform and how it works. Visit bitFlyer Website.

Since its founding in 2014, bitFlyer has grown to become the most important cryptocurrency trading platform in Japan. By 2017, it has established two distinct businesses based in the United States and the European Union. It makes it possible to swap Bitcoin in a smooth manner by facilitating the Bitcoin Easy Exchange, and it also makes it possible for Wall Street traders to use the Lightning Exchange.

Yuzo Kano and Takafumi Komiyama, both of whom had previously worked as traders for Goldman Sachs, established the company. The goal of Kano was to create a cryptocurrency trading platform that is capable of competing with the Wall Street Trading system. bitFlyer lightning supports anywhere from five to eight of the most well-known cryptocurrencies, including as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
It is simple to use, safe, has minimal trading costs, enables margin trading and futures trading, and provides a corporate account option. Reviews of bitFlyer are generally favorable because it provides such a comprehensive set of features.

It is common practice for traders to inquire about topics such as "where is bitFlyer located" and "how does bitFlyer function." Trading in Spot and FX Futures is made available on the bitcoin exchange located in Japan, which makes use of the Lightning Exchange. In addition to that, it allows for the trading of cryptocurrency derivatives, margin trading, and the rapid execution of transactions for skilled traders. However, the timing of its registration closure is unfortunate, since Poloniex and Gemini are now improving their trading procedures in an effort to entice corporations and institutions.

bitFlyer lightning distinguishes out from the competition since it allows users to trade Bitcoin as well as participate in futures exchange. In 2018, the daily volume of value exchanged in bitFlyer Bitcoin Futures was around $1.5 billion USD on average. Even more impressive was the fact that the sum was greater than that of the next three cryptocurrency exchanges put together.

Since services are a significant component of each and every bitFlyer review, the following provides a summary of the services that are made available by the platform.

Trading in virtual currencies is the key activity that has contributed to the success of bitFlyer. Bitcoin, Ethereum Classic, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, and Ethereum are among the cryptocurrencies that traders may purchase and sell using this platform. The bitFlyer trading platform in the United States only accepts Bitcoin, however the Japanese version supports XRP, Monacoin, and Lisk.

Additionally, bitFlyer gives users the ability to trade cryptocurrencies with no predefined limits. Users have the option of using the Lightning Exchange to purchase, trade, and deal with transactions using the Pro Exchange with no restrictions whatsoever.

chainFlyer is a blockchain explorer service that is provided by bitFLyer. This tool gives a straightforward representation of Bitcoin's organizational framework. It highlights real-time Bitcoin transactions and use animations to make the process more understandable.

A service that offers information on Bitcoin transactions, addresses, and blocks, Blockchain Lab by bitFlyer is comparable to chainFlyer in this regard. Additionally, it engages in research and development activities pertaining to blockchain technology.

bitFyer's Lightning API Playground is a service that uses application programming interfaces (APIs) to carry out operations like transactions automatically utilizing the software. The solution functions quite well for users who have prior familiarity with both programming and security. In addition to that, it provides a real-time alternative known as the Realtime API Playground.

Conducting business with BitFlyer

Users need to take a number of factors into consideration before beginning to trade using bitFlyer. The first step in the process is registration, and there are many different kinds of classes that you need to think about. bitFlyer has a variety of additional account types available in Japan, Europe, and the United States. The following is an overview of all of them.

In Japan, one can choose between different classes such as Wallet Class and Trade Class. The first option does not facilitate the purchasing, selling, or trading of digital currencies in any way. It is possible to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrency, and the maximum amount that may be paid out in a given week is 100,000 Japanese Yen. On the other hand, the latter provides full access to Lightning Exchange, enabling customers to engage in futures, spot, and foreign exchange trading.
Options like as Trade and ProTrade are available to people in the United States. The first option gives you the ability to send and receive both US dollars and digital currencies. Additionally, it is able to purchase and sell cryptocurrency on Lightning Exchange for a daily maximum of 50,000 dollars. The latter enables market participants to engage in limitless buying, selling, and trading activities on the Lightning Exchange.

The options available in the UK are quite comparable to those in the US version. On the Lightning Exchange, there is a button labeled Trade that makes buying, selling, and trading in general more simpler. Additionally, it allows for the depositing and withdrawing of fiat currencies such as EUR as well as cryptocurrencies, with a daily transaction limit of up to 250 EUR. The maximum annual amount that can be traded is 2,500 Euros. If you choose with the ProTrade option, you won't have any restrictions placed on your ability to purchase, sell, or trade on the Lightning Exchange.

Trading Procedures for bitFlyer:

First, you'll need to create an account.

To ensure the legitimacy of the account, the platform will request identifying information from the user. Please submit the data, and upgrading the account class will grant you access to additional perks.

To establish a real bank account alongside the Bitcoin address, go to "Settings" and follow the instructions there.

It is easy to see why it has earned a reputation for having minimal bitFlyer trading costs. The costs charged by the platform are really reasonable, and the rates are scaled according to the trading volume. In addition, the bitFlyer fees are subject to alter depending on your area given that bitFlyer Europe, the United States of America, and Japan all have distinct pricing systems.

Additionally, it allows for the depositing and withdrawing of funds using fiat currencies. Users in Japan can access the SBI Sumishin Net Bank without incurring any fees while making deposits of fiat currency. If you decide to use a different bank, you will be charged a one-time cost of 330 Japanese Yen.

Users may choose from a variety of deposit and withdrawal options while using the bitFlyer Lightning Exchange. It ensures that:

Transfers to and from bank accounts using debit cards, credit cards, and prepaid cards
E-Wallets
Cryptocurrencies
Transfer Via Wire

Despite the fact that bitFlyer's crypto support is not very great, it nonetheless provides traders with access to a few of the most prominent cryptocurrencies. The following is a quick list of the many cryptocurrencies that are supported by the site.

Bitcoin (BTC)
Ethereum (ETH)
Litecoin (LTC)
Bitcoin Cash(BCH)
Classic Ethereum (ETC)
Monacoin (MONA)

The mobile app may be downloaded for free on both Android and iOS devices. It allows users to buy and sell bitcoins, make and receive bitcoin transactions, and transfer and keep bitcoins in their bitFlyer wallets, among other capabilities. The mobile application is speedy, inconvenient, and simple to operate. You may even use a QR code to convey virtual money.

A common motivation for traders to research the bitFlyer exchange is the need to find answers to questions like "Is bitFlyer safe?" It would not be an exaggeration to describe bitFLyer as a safe, secure, dependable, and competent exchange platform. It is one of the very few web-based trading platforms on the internet that is both registered and regulated, and it has not been subject to any significant security breach. SSL connection, security with multiple signatures, technology with SHA-256 hashing, two-factor authentication, know your customer, and anti-money laundering AML functions are all implemented by it. Because it contains such safeguards, the market continues to rank among the most secure in the sector.

Now that you know if it is safe to use bitFlyer or not, have a look at the image down below; it shows the same explanation.

Another area in which the platform performs exceptionally well is in customer assistance. Users have the option of contacting support executives by email or telephone (in Japan). In addition, there is a Help Center where you may find the answers to frequently asked questions. It is unfortunate that there is no live chat help, which limits the usefulness of the platform. Despite this, the platform continues to be a popular choice among crypto traders owing to the helpful support that it provides.

BitFlyer Lightning, a cryptocurrency exchange that has been operating for more than four years, is widely regarded as one of the most reliable platforms in the sector. It has extremely high levels of security, efficiency, reliability, and, most importantly, regulation. Although the supply of its virtual currency is restricted, the quality of its trading capabilities is exceptional.
Additionally, it is compatible with fiat currencies, bank transfers, wire transfers, debit/credit cards, and so on. It offers three distinct platforms, each tailored to one of the three areas, each of which has a unique pricing structure. The fees are reasonable, and it provides a satisfactory level of customer service. Additionally supported features include margin trading, the bitFlyer wallet, financial services, and trade history. Because it has so many useful features, the bitcoin trading platform bitFlyer is an excellent choice for both novice and experienced investors.

bitFlyer is one of the very few cryptocurrency exchanges on the internet that is both regulated and licensed.

The United States only offers Bitcoin, whereas Japan has eight different cryptocurrencies available for purchase. The variety of coins available varies according on the area. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Monacoin (MONA), and Lisk are the cryptocurrencies that are available for your selection.

The platform is well-known for its cryptocurrency exchange services, with Bitcoin standing out as the clear front-runner among the available options. It is also possible to swap it for other cryptocurrencies or your favorite fiat cash.

The usage of bitFlyer is not restricted to US investors in any way. There is also a specialized site just for traders from the United States called bitFlyer USA.

Which countries are supported by the bitFlyer platform? The United States of America, Europe, and Japan are the three locations from which users may access the exchange.

The Arguments in Favor and Why:
When buying and selling cryptocurrencies, there are no fees that are fixed on a per-trade basis: Simple trades are not subject to a set cost, however additional fees may apply to other types of deals.
Basic order form as well as more sophisticated trading systems are available: Upgrades to the professional-grade Lightning exchange platform are available for those with advanced skills (additional fees apply).
bitFlyer is the leading exchange for users in Japan and has millions of users all over the world. It is also the top exchange in Japan. bitFlyer has more than 2.5 million members globally.

The Arguments Against:
Only a few of different currencies are supported. There are not a lot of digital currencies that are available to purchase, sell, or trade, and there are not many pairs of different cryptocurrencies; the availability of coins depends on the nation in which you live. On the site, customers from the United States may trade in nine different currencies.
Not being one of the top ten worldwide exchanges, which might result in less liquidity: Since bitFlyer's trading volumes are substantially smaller than those of the top exchanges, it may be somewhat more difficult to successfully execute trades on this platform.
Pricing spreads of up to 6 percent that are already baked in: The buy and sell prices that are presented on the website include spreads ranging from 0.1 percent to 6.0 percent; thus, customers should not consider the transactions to be completely fee-free.

bitFlyer is a cryptocurrency exchange that operates out of Japan and has an office in San Francisco, California, in the United States. The cost mechanism and feature set make it an excellent option for customers who are just starting out with cryptocurrencies, despite the fact that it only supports a limited number of different digital currencies. In addition to that, it offers a high-end active trading platform tailored specifically to the requirements of professionals, which is priced differently.

bitFlyer is a cryptocurrency exchange that provides a user-friendly interface for crypto newcomers and a pricing mechanism that does not specify per-trade costs. Spread-based pricing is what is used in its place, which means that all expenses are included into the price of the currency. Here is a more in-depth look at how bitFlyer operates, so that you can determine whether or not it will meet your requirements.

Speculative investments, such as those made in cryptocurrencies, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and other Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs), come with a high degree of risk, and the markets itself may be very unpredictable. Before making any decisions about your finances, you should discuss your options with a knowledgeable expert. This article does not constitute a recommendation to invest in cryptocurrencies on the part of Investopedia or the author, nor can the accuracy or timeliness of the information included herein be guaranteed.

bitFlyer was established in the year 2014 in Japan. Despite the fact that it doesn't support very many different currencies, it claims to be the largest Bitcoin exchange in the world when measured by volume. It is the parent company of bitFlyer USA, a United States affiliate with headquarters in San Francisco.

The primary platform is recommended for beginners and intermediate users of cryptocurrencies who are seeking for a solution to avoid paying excessive fees every trade. This strategy can, in certain instances, yield to cost reductions for orders of a lesser size. Lightning functions as a separate exchange for users with qualifying account levels, which includes users in the business and expert communities. In addition, trading costs are a part of Lightning, but they are absent from the basic platform.

In the following list of the best cryptocurrency exchanges, you can find additional alternatives for buying, selling, and trading cryptocurrency.

The fact that just a select few cryptocurrencies are supported by bitFlyer is among the service's most major drawbacks. If you are a resident of the United States, the following items are available for purchase and trading on the platform:

Bitcoin (BTC)
Ethereum (ETH)
Classic Ethereum (ETC)
Litecoin (LTC)
Bitcoin Cash (BCH)
Polkadot (DOT)
Stellar Lumens (XLM)
Tezos (XTZ)

You also have the ability to trade Lisk (LSK) and MonaCoin if you are located in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) (MONA). Users in Japan now have access to a variety of other currencies.

Buying and selling bitcoin on the bitFlyer mobile app and website is as simple as buying and selling stock when utilizing the basic version of the app and website. You should have no trouble navigating and using bitFlyer if you have previous experience managing an account with a stock trading firm.

The dashboard gives you rapid access to viewing balances, entering trades, and updating your account information. There is a specific location for Bitcoin that is kept distinct from where other cryptocurrencies, often known as altcoins, are kept.

The bitFlyer Lightning exchange will be available to you once you have completed the user verification process required to upgrade your account to the "Trade" level. Lightning is an active trading platform that works independently of the main platform and employs a distinct pricing methodology. This is comparable to other cryptocurrency brokerages that provide active trading platforms.

Lightning, on the other hand, has a more advanced feature set, which includes current trading charts, an open order book, recent transaction listings, and a rapid order input form. This is especially beneficial for experienced and active traders. There are a variety of sound effects included with the lightning (or mildly annoying).

Despite the fact that bitFlyer advertises its transactions as being "Free," there are fees of up to 6 percent involved either purchasing or selling.

bitFlyer has two separate price schedules that it utilizes for its various platforms. In any case, there are no ongoing costs associated with the account.

bitFlyer does not impose a front-end fee that is predetermined for the purchase or sale of ordinary bitcoin transactions. You will, however, be required to pay spread pricing costs that range anywhere from 0.10 percent to 6.0 percent. The charge may be subject to an increase in the event that there is low liquidity or abrupt changes in the market. Be wary of the exchange rates, since the cryptocurrency you buy likely comes with some sort of charge attached to it.

On the Lightning platform, transaction costs are capped at 0.10 percent for monthly trading volumes of up to $50,000 USD. Fees can drop as low as 0.03 percent for high-volume traders who are willing to pay more. These costs are among the most competitive available for active trading platforms.

You will be subject to transaction fees if you decide to withdraw bitcoin to a wallet or platform that is not operated by you. Both deposits and withdrawals using ACH are free of charge. Deposits made through wire are not charged a fee, however withdrawals made via wire cost $20.

bitFlyer does not have a history of any big hacks or security breaches, which contributes to the company's positive image for security. The security of user accounts and cryptocurrencies is ensured by utilizing a variety of different technologies.

Users should always make sure to use different passwords on each website they visit, but this is especially important for sites that contain their money or other financial assets. bitFlyer mandates that passwords for users have a minimum length of nine characters in order to satisfy complexity standards. It has a feature that allows for two-factor authentication in addition to an automated account lockout and a timeout. Certain usage and transactions of the account are subject to the verification requirement.

If you adhere to the industry's best practices on online safety, you should have no need to worry about the safety of your bitFlyer account.

If you have all of your information on hand, creating an account on bitFlyer is a simple process that can be completed in a short amount of time. To begin the process of creating an account, all that is required from you is your email address. You will be able to use your "Standby Class" account as soon as you have validated your email address, decided on a password, and accepted the terms and conditions of the account.

For complete access to your account, you will need to go through the know your customer (KYC) verification process. When you upgrade to "Trade Class," you are able to make up to $50,000 worth of transactions per day and up to $50,000 worth of withdrawals per day. In order to access higher restrictions, you will need to upgrade to the "Trade Pro Class." The uploading of a photo ID, a selfie, a bank account statement, a utility bill, and a Social Security number are all necessary components of a full KYC verification.

Help pages and an email ticketing system are the only two available choices for customer support. There is no way to contact somebody by phone or through a live chat service.

Users of bitFlyer have not extensively rated the company's customer service on third-party websites; nonetheless, the data that is available point to poor customer care, despite the fact that this is generally usual among cryptocurrency exchanges. You should think of accounts largely as being self-service, much like the majority of other businesses in this sector.

The bitFlyer website and mobile application are both used to manage user accounts. These platforms allow you to make deposits and withdrawals, update your contact information, upgrade your account level, and manage any other aspects of your account that you require.

Even people who have no prior experience with cryptocurrencies should have no trouble navigating and using the mobile and internet platforms.

bitFlyer is an excellent option to go with if you are new to the world of cryptocurrencies and looking to get started with a platform that is simple to navigate, doesn't charge exorbitant fees for trading in tiny quantities, and is user-friendly. Cryptocurrency novices won't have any trouble opening an account with bitFlyer, and the company's mobile app is designed to make trading as simple as possible.

On the other hand, spread-based pricing and a restricted range of supported cryptocurrencies can make you go elsewhere for your cryptocurrency trading requirements, particularly if you want to trade altcoins. This is especially the case if you are interested in trading altcoins. bitFlyer is most useful for those who are just starting out in the world of cryptocurrencies, despite the fact that it does provide a more sophisticated platform for traders with more expertise.

bitFlyer was established in Japan in 2014 and provides a very limited selection of cryptocurrencies (just five in total) at the most competitive trading prices in the market. It is because of this commitment to excelling in a very small number of tasks that bitFlyer has grown to become one of the most important cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan. You may want to look elsewhere if you do not intend to invest solely in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Ethereum Classic, or Litecoin. This exchange is a viable option for some U.S. crypto investors, particularly those who would prefer to use Japanese yen. However, if you are one of those investors, you may want to consider using it.

People who are new to cryptocurrency and want to remain only inside the domain of trusted and proven coins can consider using bitFlyer. Sorry, but Dogecoin is not supported on this platform. Alternately, it is an excellent alternative for professional traders who either don't have any interest in cryptocurrencies or want to acquire them on a platform that is different from this one.

When compared to well-known companies such as Coinbase and Gemini, who charge huge premiums to customers who are just starting out, bitFlyer's competitive pricing gives it a significant advantage. Be warned that costs won't always always be so low, and they may possibly vary as high as 6%. Although bitFlyer's easy-to-use and beginner-friendly buy/sell platform has a trading charge of only 0.10 percent, which is a fantastic offer, fees won't necessarily always be that low. Fees that range above 2 percent are substantially more than you'll find on just about any rival platform. Before you make a purchase using the buy/sell platform offered by bitFlyer, you should make sure that your fees are genuinely competitive with those of other platforms.

In the meanwhile, people who are interested in gaining knowledge while investing should be aware that the educational tools offered by bitFlyer are lacking in contrast to those offered by other prominent platforms.

Binance is a platform that may appeal to more experienced users.

costs comparable to those in the United States, especially on a platform that is accessible even to residents of New York and Texas, where Binance is not yet available. bitFlyer also provides its users with a comprehensive set of security measures, such as multi-sig, which is a method for making Bitcoin wallets more secure by making the usage of several keys necessary in order to remove funds from a Bitcoin wallet.

Despite these advantages, bitFlyer has a fatal defect that prevents it from being used for trading a wide variety of currencies. For example, if you are interested in purchasing ADA, you are out of luck at this point.

Before you invest any money into this or any other cryptocurrency exchange, you should give a lot of thought to the situation. This is true regardless of how much expertise you have. When dealing with such a mercurial asset, not even the safest and most strictly regulated platform will be able to shield you from the whims of a potentially unpredictable market.

bitFlyer, which was established in the aftermath of the catastrophic Mt. Gox attack, which resulted in the theft of more than 850,000 Bitcoin by hackers, places a high priority on both compliance and security. It was the first exchange that received permission to conduct business in Japan, the United States, and the European Union.

bitFlyer is distinguished by the fact that it is a platinum member of the Japan Blockchain Association (JBA), which indicates that the platform satisfies the requirements imposed by the association regarding trading restrictions and safety precautions. bitFlyer claims that it protects the confidentiality of your data and assets by utilizing the most advanced encryption technology currently available.

This involves the use of security measures such as multi-sig, which is a method that calls for the use of several keys in order to authorize a bitcoin transaction. If you use multi-sig, you should experience a lower risk of being hacked. This is because even if a hacker were to obtain one of your cryptographic keys, they would not be able to access your wallet's cryptocurrency holdings unless they also had all of the wallet's other keys.

In addition, bitFlyer asserts that it holds more than 80 percent of its customers' cryptocurrency offline, which helps limit the probability that hackers would be able to get access to significant quantities of user cash. However, according to CER, an independent crypto exchange security evaluator, it has the lowest ranking possible in terms of its level of cybersecurity across all of the cryptocurrency exchanges that we tested.

Even though the majority of large exchanges now support purchases of cryptocurrencies with fiat currencies like dollars, these transactions are often restricted to the country's native denomination. bitFlyer, on the other hand, has just just launched a feature that it refers to as "cross-border trading." This feature enables customers in the United States to buy and sell Bitcoin with Japanese yen and, as a result, obtain access to the Japanese Bitcoin market.

Although this may be enticing to particular categories of investors, the functionality is only being sent out to a select few at this time. Customers from the United States are unable to make direct deposits of JPY into their bitFlyer accounts. Instead, they are required to use Bitcoin to purchase yen, which they may then use to purchase further Bitcoin. Because bitFlyer does not yet accept JPY withdrawals in the United States, users may also be disappointed because in order to withdraw funds from their accounts, they must do it using either Bitcoin or USD. bitFlyer does not yet support withdrawals using JPY.

BitFlyer, in contrast to the majority of other cryptocurrency exchanges, does not use maker/taker fees. Instead, it levies variable fees based on whether or not you utilize the complex trading platform of Lightning Exchange or the rapid buy platform.

Although bitFlyer promotes the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies on its rapid buy platform as "free" exchanges, this does not accurately reflect the nature of the transactions. The buy/sell displays on the site are subject to a charge that ranges from 0.1 percent to 6.0 percent, and it is calculated based on the purchase and sells prices posted there. Your trades on bitFlyer's immediate platform might be much more expensive than comparable deals on other exchanges, even pricey beginner-friendly platforms such as Coinbase and Gemini, if you aren't attentive when you purchase or sell your cryptocurrency in this manner.

A deposit or withdrawal via an ACH from a bank in the United States does not incur any fees, and neither does the deposit of funds via wire transfer. On the other hand, there is a substantial $20 fee associated with wire withdrawals.

You will be subject to withdrawal fees if you decide to take your cryptocurrency off of the bitFlyer exchange. For example, if you wanted to keep your coins in a Bitcoin wallet that was disconnected from the internet, this would be an example of a situation in which you would make this decision. If you believe that you will want or need to move considerable quantities of cryptocurrency off of an exchange in the near future, it is possible that a platform such as Gemini, which allows a certain number of free withdrawals each month, would be a better option for you.
